In Praise of Our Lord, Savior, and True Hope: And who is the greatest saint?

Every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord -- Philippines 2:11

When the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior. -- Titus 3:4-6

Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. And who is the greatest saint?

The greatest saint in the world is not he who prays most or fasts most; it is not he who gives most alms or is most eminent for temperance, chastity, or justice.

It is he who is most thankful to God and who has a heart always ready to praise God. This is the perfection of all virtues.

Joy in God and thankfulness to God is the highest perfection of a divine and holy life.
